Erectile Dysfunction
As many as 30 million men experience erectile dysfunction (ED).
 Several treatment options available

One Problem, Many Potential Causes – Not One Size Fits All Treatment

Erectile dysfunction (ED) occurs when a man is unable to achieve or sustain an erection sufficient for sexual intercourse.

Causes of ED can include:

  • medications
  • chronic illness such as diabetes or high blood pressure
  • poor penile blood flow
  • excessive alcohol consumption
  • fatigue

Although the symptoms can be embarrassing to discuss, we encourage you to mention them to your doctor. They could be signs of related health issues needing medical attention, including heart disease or neurological disorders. Virginia Urology’s physicians are discreet, understanding, and equipped with knowledge that can help.

More Common Than You Think

As many as 30 million men experience erectile dysfunction (ED). It can impact adult men at any age and can develop gradually or occur suddenly. In most cases of ED, it can be contributed to or caused by smoking, diabetes, high blood pressure, prostate conditions, surgery and certain prescription medications. There is even research showing the link between ED and cardiovascular disease.

We Can Help

The Men’s Wellness Center of Virginia Urology offers a full range of diagnostic tests to determine the cause of ED. Treatment Options:

  • lifestyle changes
  • medications
  • Low-intensity Shockwave Therapy
  • injections
  • vacuum devices
  • penile prosthesis – Our physicians have the most experience in Virginia with penile implants.
